We purchased our Ridgid SP500 (1/2 hp) from Home Depot in 2006. Like many others here, the reason we purchased the expensive model was the lifetime warranty. From May of 2006 until just last week, it ran flawlessly. We have a fairly high water table where we live, so every time it rains the pump kicks in.
